Module 7 Blog Post

For this module we had to watch two videos and answer these selected questions.
1. For each video list/discuss the key concepts you learned.
2.What is your opinion of the films? How do they add depth to understanding of Architecture?
3. Why did you choose the films that you watched?

Prairie Style
1. A house means to improve ability to live, and are beauty in simplicity.  Architectural design designs is like writing a symphony. The Prairie style homes echo the lines of Prairie. The way the place is spaced out reminds you of your relation of space.
2. I liked this film quite a bit. It was interesting to learn how homes have evolved from simple box homes into the beauties that they are today. It adds depth into each architecture that is well known and how they have impacted the architecture field.
3.  My art teacher in high school love Frank Lloyd Wright, so He has always interested me. When I saw that this video focuses on him I wanted to watch it.

Architecture: The Science of Design
1. Skyscrapers have been perfected through testing in small models to see if the structure can withstand specific weather conditions. Smart apartments are really interesting. The computers are linked to the central nervous system of the house and accommodate the user's needs. Concrete is used in building since the Greek and Romans. Their ruins still have concrete found in all forms.
2. This film was ok. It was a little outdated, but still had modern information. I still adds depth to architecture and how skyscrapers are constructed.
3. Smart homes are on the verge and hopefully will become an every day home some day. The smart homes are very interesting and intriguing on how they work.
